Black Rock In Joshua Tree: Humping it back to St. Louis

Updated: Dec 7, 2020

Picking up the Pup was simple. No one stole it or broke in. I mean really, no one could see it the way it was stuck between an old bus and a huge, beat to crap truck.

We decided to go back to St. Louis first stopping in the mountains outside of Los Angeles. We stayed in the Black Rock Campground. It was high dessert campground with Yucca trees and sage brush all around.

We parked in a nice sight overlooking a wide desert valley. We had no power so we “boondocked“ the camping. Boondocking means you are all on your own, our Pup’s solar cells the only power.

Well, the temperature dropped down to freezing, Vicki and I finding refuge under multiple quilts

The next morning was beautifu, the desert covered in a light blanket of snow

Steve and Mary

After returning to Charolette  we meet up with Steve and Mary at a Mexican restaurant for lunch and we were able to visit with Steve this  time.  So good to see the cousins.
