Virginia. Their Moto is “Virginia is for lovers” and it’s true. It is for people who love mountains and parks and trees and rivers. It is for people who love to hike and dream and pray. And it is very romantic.
We drove from Maryland and headed toward the fine state of Virginia traveling southwest and stopped at the American Military Heritage Museum. The docent was both informed and hilarious. We saw displays of fighting units from 1750s till today. We visited barracks and trenches. Very moving.
A hardy HOOAH goes out to my buddy Jeff, thanks for your service.
Leaving the military museum we zoomed over Hogback mountain and we’re delighted to see the grand valley. The Shenandoah Valley runs 125 miles north to south and is a beautiful.
The hills are cover with all kinds of large trees and small bush. From oaks to popular from thorny bushes to soft groundcover, the Shenandoah Valley is amazing.
We hiked, biked and kayaked all over. We even crossed the most harrowing of rivers on top of a log!!!!
I, yes Tim P. it's true, I caught two fish, one blue gill and one smallmouth bass.
We spent two days in the Shenandoah Valley visiting the river, the hills and Shanandoah National Park and we would have done more if we could have stayed longer.
Next stop... Claytor State Park.
Shenandoah river valley looks beautiful, it almost makes me want to try rving again. ;0
