Torreya State Park Florida

We drove through a torrential downpour forced to hold up at Aunt Beverly’s boiled peanut roadside store. we opted against the boiled nuts and opted for dark chocolate.

Torreya is known for its torreya trees, birdwatching and the enormous bluffs along the Apalachicola River. Cool,

but nowhere to bike, hike or fish. To top the less than perfect day, Vicki got stung by a Yellowjacket within five minutes of our arrival. She swelled up like Katniss Everdean in the Hunger games. In light of our mobility and love of seeing over the next hill, we left the next morning early and headed off toward Seminole State Park.
